CATS
Modal
CATS Modal adds fully integrated data
acquisition, modal analysis and report generation to the
Computer-Aided Test Suite.
With options like Operating Deflection Shapes
(ODS), Time Domain Animation (TDA), Forced Response Simulation
(FRS) and Structural Dynamics Modification (SDM), CATS Modal
provides comprehensive structural dynamics test and analysis
capabilities.
All of these features are bundled with the
same powerful networking and report generation capabilities that
are inherent in the Computer-Aided Test Suite.
Data
Acquisition
Integrated data acquisition makes acquiring
and managing large sets of modal data easier than ever.
Automated management of measurement DOF simplifies data
acquisition for multiple data sets and reduces test time.
A built-in signal generator provides
user-specified excitation type (random, sine, chirp, burst
random, user-defined) and amplitude control.
Upgrading to Premier Modal Data Acquisition
adds the ability to acquire multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO)
modal data.
For acquisition of long time history events,
the optional removable SCSI throughput disk provides
simultaneous acquisition of time data to disk for 16 input
channels at up to 51.2 kHz sample rate per channel
Data
Analysis
By integrating data acquisition with analysis,
CATS Modal simplifies the data acquisition task and provides the
same powerful function data viewing capability for both data
acquisition and analysis. Function data displays include:
Multiple graphs per page
Overlay up to 6 data traces per graph
Multiple page reports
Optional 3D waterfall displays
nth octave analysis
The optional Virtual Calculator can even
provide math processing of live data streams and stored data
files for complete flexibility in signal processing.
Optional modules for Transient Analysis (SRS)
and Swept Sine Analysis give CATS extremely powerful and
versatile signal analysis capabilities.
Modal
Analysis
From creating the test geometry to animating
the mode shapes, CATS Modal is designed to simplify your task.
With the automated mesh generator you can quickly
building a complex geometry from rectangular, spherical and
cylindrical elements.
The widest variety of curve fitters in the
industry (Peak, SDOF, MDOF, and Global) ensures that the
appropriate curve fitter is available for the test.
Comprehensive tools help identify modes and
evaluate your results:
Mode Indicator Function
Modal Assurance Criterion
FRF Synthesis
CATS Modal provides
both time and frequency animation, with real-time control of
rotation, perspective, speed, amplitude, zooming and panning.

Modal Options
Advanced Curve Fitting- The Advanced Curve Fitter is a hybrid
algorithm using Least Squares Complex Exponential (LSCE) and
polynomial techniques which is used in estimating modal
parameters for multi-reference or MIMO data as well as single
reference data.
Structural Dynamics Modification - Structural Dynamics Modification
allows the user to take modal analysis results and simulate
changes to the structure to determine its effect on the dynamic
response.
Forced Response Simulation - Forced Response Simulation uses modal
results to simulate the response of the structure to a
user-specified force at one or more locations on the structure.
Time Domain Analysis - Time Domain Analysis
uses measured time history data to animate a structure showing
its motion during a transient, non-linear, or frequency-variant
events (e.g. machine run-up/coast-down or shock response).
Operating Deflection Shapes - Motion due to excitation of the
structure, such as, external forces, rotating imbalance, and
gear chatter can be analyzed using Operating Deflection Shapes.
Powerful
Networking and Report Generation Capabilities
CATS
Modal incorporates all of the same powerful networking and
report generation capabilities as the rest of the Computer-Aided
Test Suite applications. Review data and create reports on any
PC using LiveReport.
View and analyze live data from anywhere on a network
using NetViewer. Control
data acquisition from across the network using Host
Remote Control. You
can even embed control of the data acquisition in C++, Visual
Basic, of LabView programs using ActiveX
Automation. |
