What SCSI interfaces do you support?
Only the following SCSI cards will work with SigLab and Windows 2000 :
- Adaptec APA-1460 (PCMCIA)
- Adaptec AHA-1520B (ISA)
- Adaptec AHA-1522N (ISA)
- Adaptec AHA-29160 (PCI)
- Adaptec AHA-29160N (PCI)
The following SCSI adapters are NOT recommended for use with SigLab:
- Adaptec AHA-154xB, C (ISA)
- Adaptec AHA-2930CU (PCI)
- Adaptec AHA-2940UWpro (PCI)
- Adaptec AHA-2940U2 (PCI)
- Adaptec AHA-2940U2W (PCI)
- Eiger Labs, Inc. EigerMedia (PCMCIA)
However, please consult the factory for the current list of recommended SCSI adapters. At the very least the adapter must support the "ASPI" (Advanced SCSI Programming Interface) software driver standard. If you have any questions, please call us at (408) 918-2577.
How can I tell if my laptop recognizes my PCMCIA-to-SCSI card?
You should actually read the manufacturer's instructions associated with your particular card because details do vary from one maker to another. However, in general, the computer will generate beeping tones upon insertion and removal of the card. Usually, upon insertion of the card the computer will generate a high tone followed by a low tone if the card is configured properly. And usually, upon removal of the card, the computer will generate a low tone followed by a high tone if the card is configured properly.
