Panther – Field Data Vibration Test Replication Software
Panther Field Data Replication Control delivers precision and performance in time-domain waveform...
With the STAR Sync Box, up to 16 eight-channel Panther chassis run as one phase-synchronized system: 128 input channels and up to six drive outputs. That extends what Panther can do in MISO control, MIMO control and vibration analysis.

|---|---|
| STAR Sync Boxes | 2, cascaded |
| Panther chassis | 16 |
| Channels per chassis | 8 |
| Input channels | 128 |
| Drive outputs (DACs) | 6 |

PHASE-SYNCHRONIZED · Every channel on every chassis, as one system.
Large structures, multi-shaker rigs and modal surveys all ask for more measurement points than one chassis holds. Adding channels is only useful if every one of them is measured at the same instant: a phase error between chassis shows up as a false mode, a wrong transfer function, or a control error the loop can't explain.
Monitor, limit and abort channels across the whole article, not just at the control point.
Up to six drive outputs, with the response channels that degree-of-freedom transforms and limit protection need.
Dense accelerometer layouts measured in one pass, with phase you can trust from the first chassis to the last.
Each STAR Sync Box connects one master Panther chassis and eight slaves. A second STAR Sync Box cascades from one of the first box's slave ports, adding eight more slaves: one master and fifteen slaves, 16 chassis and 128 channels acquiring as a single system on Panther's single DAQ clock.

The STAR Sync Box doesn't change how Panther controls or analyzes. It gives every application more synchronized channels to work with.
| Application | What more synchronized channels give you |
|---|---|
| MISO control | One drive, with control, limit, monitor and abort channels spread across a large article or fixture, all measured on the same timebase. |
| MIMO control | Up to six drive outputs, the number a six-degree-of-freedom configuration uses, with room for the sensors that DOF transforms, limiting and monitoring need. |
| Vibration analysis | More measurement points per run for operating response, transfer functions and STAR modal surveys, so large structures can be covered in fewer setups. |
Panther expands in 8-channel chassis, so a lab can buy for today's tests and add chassis as programs grow. Every chassis added stays phase-synchronous with the rest.
Sixteen chassis is the configuration Spectral Dynamics has tested. The architecture can cascade further; talk to your sales representative about larger systems.

A multi-channel system is only as good as the phase coherence of its front end. That is what makes 128 channels across 16 chassis useful rather than just large.
Each STAR Sync Box connects one master Panther chassis and eight slaves. Cascading a second STAR Sync Box from one of the first box's slave ports gives 16 eight-channel chassis, 128 phase-synchronized input channels, which is the configuration Spectral Dynamics has tested. Up to six DACs, for MISO control and for multi-exciter MIMO control.
MISO control, MIMO control and vibration analysis. Each application gets more synchronized channels to work with; how it controls and analyzes is unchanged.
